...and so it begins.....

The Saturday after Christmas we head to the Pacific NW to welcome our nephew's (from Alaska) new bride into the fold. Our gift will be a wedding cake. A Daniels family tradition, there for the taker. Consensus over Thanksgiving is that it should be the same chocolate, chocolate, chocolate one we made for his sister when she got married. :)

Later the same evening we have plans with close friends to visit with their daughter, who will be home over the holidays -- Hopefully there will be an engagement ring involved, to see, to feel blessed in sharing the moment. :)

Then on Sunday morning we'll check into our hotel on the East side of Lake WA for 4 days -- Dan will start his new adventure Monday.

How bizarre this all seems. Will this move go smoothly? Will we get caught in the economy crunch? Will we be able to sell our beloved house for enough to relocate with the same lifestyle? Do Movers really know how to pack and crate a piano built in 1867? Should we go through our books and take some to Powells? Can this really be our 5th Corporate move? Our 10th move since getting married?

But first things first -- We'll be back at home on New Years Day and the day after (Friday) we'll undecorate the Pittock Mansion from Christmas. The following Monday the tentative plan is for Dan to fly to Denver, then onto Wisconsin Wednesday and hopefully back home by Friday -- We have no clue where we need to be the following Monday, January 12th. :)

.....and so it all begins, this road less traveled of ours, this life filled with adventure, the path we're never on long enough to wear a rut, each breath filled with excitment -- and fear, every thought filled with gratitude.
